Merilyn has extensive experience in the field of communications. She has worked as a journalist and as a communications manager in various organisations. Her main strengths lie in her systematic and strategic approach to communication, as well as her ability to explain complex issues in a clear and simple manner. Her work is characterised by thoroughness, purposefulness, and a drive to find innovative ways to approach tasks.

She possesses extensive practical knowledge and experience in crisis communication, having served as a communications manager in a local government during the COVID-19 crisis. In this role, she dealt with and resolved numerous complex situations within the municipal government and its subordinate institutions.

Before joining the META team, Merilyn worked as the Head of Communications for the Social Democratic Party, helping them achieve a result in the 2023 parliamentary elections that secured a seat at the coalition negotiation table and eventually a place in the coalition government.

Merilyn advises various organisations and companies in the healthcare and education sectors. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Tartu and currently teaches communication students at the same university.
