Merilyn Säde

Merilyn Säde leads healthcare advisory at META Advisory, helping healthcare companies and organisations address business-critical communications challenges, from market entry and positioning to the management of sensitive issues and reputational risk.

She supports clients in situations where communications directly affect trust, the regulatory environment or commercial outcomes, including the launch of new services or medicines, shaping public debate, preventing and managing crises, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Her clients include leading players across the healthcare sector, such as Meliva, Synlab, IQVIA, the Estonian Health Insurance Fund and ETTOL. She helps them articulate their role within the healthcare system, explain complex issues with clarity and build long-term trust among patients, partners and decision-makers.

Merilyn has also led complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, including the Heart Month campaign, which brought together 13 partners to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease and encourage people to pay greater attention to their health.

Before joining consulting, Merilyn served as Head of Communications at the Estonian State Agency of Medicines and led communications for the Social Democratic Party. This gives her a strong understanding of how regulation, the public sector and political decision-making intersect.

She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Tartu, where she also teaches undergraduate students.
